About Us
Tek-Group
Renowned for their quality and attention to detail, The Tek-Group have overseen the design and development of the Tek-Kat from day one. Following on from the awesome Tek-Jet, the Tek-Kat was the next logical progression in terms of high tech design and materials useage. Anyone who has dealt with the Tek-Group of companies will know that founder Martin Rye has the 'knack' when it comes to producing extremely high quality products that do exactly "what they say on the tin"!!
Jim Mundy
Jim has been a keen cat sailor since his first sail in a Rivercat at Petters SC in the 70's. Jim's earliest memory is that of his father building the first six Unicorns from a John Mazzoti drawing in their conservatory. Having skippered a varied selection of yachts, after completing the Fastnet in 1989, Jim came back to cat sailing when his daughter showed a interest in a DART 18. He went on to sail a Tiger and currently spends most of his spare time flying around the Solent on a Tornado.
Clive Everest
The Tek-Kat was designed by high performance boffin Clive Everest, already famous for his RS600 & RS300 and C Class catamarans. The hull shape was created using computer generated sections resulting in mathematically perfect curves producing a stunning, high performance craft that is going to set the high speed catamaran sailing world alight!
R.F. Composites (Prototype)
Richard Faulkner was the obvious choice for the prototype. With their proven skill in the Carbon Fibre field we felt comfortable from day one.
